what time zone is it in indiana?

because we have DST and apparently Indiana (east) isnt right...its still an hour back...and theres no DST option in windows for that time zone.

Yep.

I grew up on the border of Michigan and Indiana (Michiana) and even though we were in the same time zone, there were times of the year when there was Michigan time and Indiana time.

Yes it does. Most of the state is on Eastern time zone; portions around Evansville and Chicago are on Central. The entire state observes DST. Arizona and Hawaii are the only states that don't do DST.
