I don't have any microsoft accounts. Do I need to actually create one to preserve my Windows license ?!?!?!

The upgrade is ready on all our computers, but I'm not sure I want to go ahead with it not knowing all the details on clean install and license preservation.

I *believe* a Microsoft Account is the one requirement for the FREE upgrade from Windows 7 or 8.1 to 10. It is at least for the Windows Insider program. In fact, I remember now the Get Windows 10 (GWX) application asks for a Microsoft Account for your reservation.

I created accounts for all of my relatives just specifically for this purpose. All of their email is on other accounts these Microsoft Accounts are only to login to the PC.

I'm not part of the insider program but I checked this morning at about 8:00 am (BST) and my SP3 update was ready and waiting.

First impressions - continuity on a surface is bloody amazing.

Looks like 10240 is the RTM like a lot of people were guessing. One of my 8.1 machines that had an empty $Windows.~BT folder now has the install for 10240 in it. Guess I know what I'm doing after work. My gaming laptop already had 10240, it did get a security update yesterday but that's it.

The burned disc installed 10 on my surface 3 and my other desktop fine. Windows did have to update a bunch of drivers on both machines but it worked.

My Lenovo Y50 asked for a product code which happened to be the only pc I have that didn't have any files downloaded.

I got it yesterday, and have successfully integrated into my MDT build media 🙂

Now to just find time to install it on the Macbook pro.

Has anyone that has installed it had any problems running VMware Workstation 11 latest build on it?

Player works fine, so I assume Workstation would be the same. Version 11 added support for Windows 10. Player received a similar update around this time, although I ran it on an older version when 10 preview first came out and it did fine.
