What the...?

recently bought a new retail Gigacube (GeXcube) Radeon 9600 Pro 128MB, and all the reviews and whatnot I've read show two things:

A: The mhz ratings being 400/300.
B: The HSF being clear, and having lights glowing from the heatsink. (Looks kinda cool)

However, my HSF is chrome-colored, and much more importantly, the clock speeds using PowerStrip are 391.50/249.75. The fan seems fine, plenty of cooling in the case and around the card itself....whats going on?

I'm using Catalyst 3.7 drivers (the 3.8's seem to give me problems), and the card itself says GC-9600/PRO REV1.3

As a side note, I *can* overclock it, but the memory clock can just barely hit 300mhz. After that, graphics-intensive programs freeze up and I get errors showing the graphics card has failed.

Please help!

which does yours look like? look carefully @ the PCB designs, the ram and the locations of the capacitors. if you answer #1, we might have a problem. please do tell where u got the card if u answer #1. you could have a 9600 NP but... maybe flashed to pro. the 9600 (slash) pro is a bit curious.

Actually it looks closer to the Non-Pro version, with the rectangular RAM. But all the stickers say Pro.

I picked it up at DVCentury.

Did I get screwed?

Well that's always a possibility. From the looks of it, doesn't look too good. If you can, return it and get your money back.

I'm sure you got a Pro, but crappy RAM.

Also, something funny in those linked pictures above- is there only one notch in those Gigacube Radeon 9600's? Are these things AGP 2X or something?? What is up with that?
