Maybe for you. I think girls with tattoos are hot. If they've got piercings too, all the better.

They just all look cheap to me but what do I know. I just like them clean looking.

Exactly, some like it some don't. It's all personal choice and personal opinion.

In general I feel that society is becoming more accepting of tattoos (well except maybe for ATOT here...lol). There are more and more professionals getting them every day. I'd be interested to know the ages of the people on here who like/dislike them......I wouldn't be surprised if someone's views on them were a generation thing as well as a personal preference.

Well, I can start... I'm 26, white collar professional. Don't like girls with tattoos and/or piercings.

I don't mind them on women if they're discreet, small ones. I don't like those huge giant flashing neon sign tats. And piercings are a real turn-off for me. I don't like a woman that can be carried around by a strong enough magnet.

On men, I don't care. Ink yourself up so much you get ink poisoning, for all I care. But I associate arm sleeves, giant bicep tats, or full-back tats with bikers, drunkards, etc.

I have 4, got them back around 1994-1995. They are not visible in a short sleve shirt and shorts. I personally think tattoos are fine and could care less what other people think. None of my employers knew I have tattoos, and I highly doubt they would have cared. If someone is going into a job interview and have two undergraduate degrees, a masters, a handful of certs, and experience in the field, however has a couple tattoos that are not vulgar or inappropriate in nature, then I highly doubt that they will be looked down upon and not offered the job based on their tattoos. It seems more and more people these days are getting tattoo's, and I think that trend will continue. As far as how they look, that up to the person who is wearing them. Tattoos are not for the insecure, because if you care about what other people think in the first place, then a tattoo might not be right for you.

I've noticed that the majority of people with tatoos are greatly inluenced by the opinions of others and tend to be followers instead of leaders.

I would be willing to bet you have never been a real leader or don't know what a leader is.

I'm 50, white and blue collar and it depends on the tattoo. For the most part I'm ok with them as long as they aren't Prison Tattoos (at least in a white collars work atmosphere)Here in the Boston Area it seems every other person has one but then again every other person wears a wife beater, weather and work enviroment permitting. Probably has to do with the large Irish and Italian Heritage and the machismo that goes along with that culture . Also of note there is a least one Bar per block in most nieghborhoods and playing the Lottery is considered a full time occupation. You don't encounter a lot of Metrosexuals around here 😉

Food for thought:
if you're young and tattooed, the rest of the populace sees you as a stupid, ugly, unappealing rebel.

Okay, so that's exaggerating - read the article here.

From a Harris poll:
"Only 16 percent of Americans across all ages have a tattoo, compared with 36 percent of those 25 to 29."

"...people who don't have tattoos think that people with tattoos are less attractive (42 percent), less sexy (36 percent), less intelligent (31 percent), and more rebellious (57 percent)."

Personally - I have no tattoos and do not find them particularly appealing on others. I certainly don't think the current crop of tattooees are rebellious, rather that they are more lemming-like. More like "everyone else has a tattoo, so I will too." I don't think they're less intelligent, just maybe a little short-sighted. A "cool" tattoo when you're 18 can turn into an employment liability at 25 and a downright ugly sight at 60.

I think girls with small tats (ankles, backs, necks,) are pretty hot myself...
lower back "target" tatoos can be nice to...
and piercings.. hell ya nothing like a girl with peircings in her Belly button and down there =)

I think they are personal preference. There is nothing wrong with them as long as they are within reason and can be covered up.

I do believe the folks that are getting tattoo's on their necks, faces, and hands are screwing up. Eventually these people are going to be looking for a job. The tattoos may prevent them from getting the kind of job they want. In a few years, some of these folks are really going to regret their decisions.

If I had the money, I'd open a chain of laser tattoo removal shops and put them in malls across the country. I'd make a mint!

I personally think they were a fad when I was in school... The one's the chinese characters and all... I bet half has no clue what their tatto even say and some chinese people are laughing their ass off...

Those lower back tatoos are hwat.....but yeah, they're going to look nasty when the person gets their AARP card 😛

Why am I hearing that song "Please Come to Boston"?
Metrosexuals and liberals will be the downfall of the American society.

They guy that wrote that must be from Cambridge...we herd all the Metro's to that area so we can keep an eye on them.

I don't like tatoo's, and probably never will. But, you never know. my SO has one and I want it removed.

I'd remove an SO before I removed one of my tattoos, especially if they were pressuring my to get rid of the tattoo.

I'm not pressuring her at all.....I simply tell her to get it removed or I kick her out. 😉
