My Maxtor hard-crashes, fails to boot 5 times in a row. And then I must have scared the crap out of it by running the full diagnostic on it. Now it works. Someone tell me what just happened...an act of god?

if its under warrenty id RMA no matter what the theories are... backup now

i doubt they'll let me RMA because it cleared through the factory re-certification tests in their floppy utility. i'm sure as hell backing up data though. Anyone have any experience with preemptive RMA's?
