only in tx and in FL (but you have to say they were threatening you while mowing the lawn -- use the "make my day" law to your advantage)

If he does it again and the noise still bothers you, grab your garden hose and help him water his lawn as he mows it.

Make sure to have the wife/girlfriend hold the video camera so you can capture his floppy fish dance on tape.

Problem solved
winnar!

People around here get off work from 2nd shift factory and mow as soon as they get home. Normal.

Those second shift workers - what are they doing from ~8 a.m. until ~2 p.m. when they're presumably awake and not working?
er... Sleeping?

2nd shift schedule is ~3pm to midnight. Then from midnight to say, 5am is when you're awake. Then you sleep from 5am to 2pm.

:p

Just scream "They're comin' right for us!" and then you can get away for it.

Why not go to bed fairly soon after getting off work, and then get up way earlier?

Reminds me of the Desperate Housewives episode.
Go out there and make sure it isn't Eva Langoria.

Its hard to just come home and sleep. You gotta relax...you ever work the afternoon shift?

Nope, only ever done 8-5 here. I can sleep pretty well after activity though. An hour or two to eat and shower and I'd be ready to sleep.
