What the larger home improvement retailers (ex.lowe and home depot) in USA?

I am researching the home improvement market in the USA for my university project. I am only aware of Lowe and Home Depot
Can anyone else please tell me what are the larger stores in the states?

There used to be a large place called HQ, but I'm not sure they are still in business though.

As for the which is larger... Lowes has more stores than Home Depot and is larger.

Home Depot = #1.
Lowes = #2

Others:
Menards
Sears
Orchard Supply (owned by HD)

handy andy (if any still exist)
and a ton more.

Oh, and HD has more stores than Lowes by quite a few. not sure where you are getting your info from Jugernot. HD opens on average, one new store every 42 hours, and already has over 2200 if all you count is the big boxes.

<--- worked in a type 5 store (biggest possible in HD) with #13 in sales. #1 was just down the street.
