First Post :)

After waiting since 1/4 for mine from myinfinity.com (still backordered), I seem to have found one in stock at gamepc.com

At $275 it's not the best price, however, at least I can finally build! Can't stand looking at all my parts sitting there on the bench becoming obsolete by the day!

Send the board to me. I have a 3.06 and some of the matched Corsair PC3200.
I'll test it out for you. :D

well Qbit is backordered.... I called last week and they assurred me that if I placed my order, I would get a board but still nothing. They can't even tell me when they are getting their next shipment in. THIS SUCKS! Not to mention the fact that they get a 2.25 out of 10 at http://www.resellerratings.com/ that doesn't give a guy too much hope.

If anyone knows of a place that has this board in stock....please tell me! I got everything else I need just sitting here waiting to be installed!

I might have to send my DDR RAM back and just get an RD RAM board...

I'm still waiting for ncix.com to send mine.
Through email updates, they claim my order will be filled with the shipment they expect mid next week.
I ordered it at $213, $225 USD shipped and decided to wait for them instead of paying near $300. ;)

I got the same Mon. BS from them on the phone before I ordered. Then on Tue. they sent an email saying it was delayed until Fri. of course nothing Fri. I am going to do my part to help their rating drop into the 1's.

Hey

Got my P4G8X from a local shop yesterday morning.

Board runs great so far (crosses fingers)

Running a P4 2.66 and 2 512MB of XMS3200 (one is actually v1.1 and other is v2.0). Ran at 133 FSB all day yesterday and everything ran fine.

Sandra 2003 Mem at 133 FSB:
3294/3298

Sandra 2003 Mem at 155 FSB:
3725/3727

One thing thats a bit strange is the CPU temp monitor within Windows, using Asus Probe or MBM5. Idle temp is 44C in both, but when I check the CPU Temp in the Bios, its at 35C.

I've got a Vantec Nexus that displays the CPU temp, by a diode that I placed on my heatsink, next to the CPU. This reading usually is about 4C lower than actual temp. I've tested this on 3 other boards and its usually right on, 4-5C lower than actual temp. Right now at idle it reads 33C.

I tried upgrading to the 1004.004 beta Bios hoping it would fix this but it hasn't.

Anyway, its a great board nonetheless, so far. I haven't pushed it real far yet, but right now 155FSB puts my P4 2.66@3.1Ghz, which is what I had on my P4PE, with the addition of the great memory speed

they sure do...dang...hopefully that means we'll be seeing more of them...i wish i could buy one now, but just having dropped a few hundred on two of the enron leftover 18.1" LCD's it'll be a few weeks, around intel price cut time which should work nicely...i'll be able to add the dual LCD's to the rig and make it a 7 dual-miracle...ha.

Just ordered the Asus P4G8X Dlx Retail board a few minutes ago from Newegg.

They finally got them in.

Running the at 172fsb (3.1Ghz) should show some pretty good memory bandwidth using the 2X512Mb Corsair PC3200LLPT modules and when the newer Intel chipsets come out later this year they will support DDR400.

Supposedly ;)

I'm bored with this chipset (but love the package, as in 8INXP). Will anybody who snags an SINXP (8INXP +1394 x 3 = Audigy2 x 0), presumably @ Newegg, post here immediately afterwards so the rest of us can grab the other 24 before all the other ditwads out there hear about them?

(Note to self: consider changing ditwad avatar).

<begin ranting>

well...it seems utterly impossible for me to get either board. you guys must not have jobs to be around on a workday to refresh your newegg.com screens every 1.2 hour to get your hands on them. i checked several times in the morning and they were not yet available, then i check again at lunch and they were apparently sold out by then. and of course i get my e-mail from newegg in the evening telling me that they are available...but were not. the e-mail just taunted me.

this just sucks...there is no end in sight for this situation...i seriously might just blow off the Granite Bay option....i could be trying to get a board next month if things don't pickup.

</finshed ranting>

Do a search for the motherboard that you want at PriceWatch.com and you may be able to come up with one.

There are several good vendors that have not received the P4G8X that will allow ordering before they receive it. Many show to have ETA of 2/10 - 2/12 for the P4G8X.

My P4G8X shipped from newegg yesterday. ;) :)

yea....I did that last night after I found I missed the newegg.com release. I came up with Spartan Technologies and PC Progress. They both indicate 2-10-2003 on Asus and Gigabyte. I currently have an order in with QBit PC but they informed me yesterday that their vendor lied to them and that they have no ETA or order in....meaning no board for me anytime soon. I will probably not be getting a board at all as promised (I was promised a board almost two weeks ago). BTW...QBit SUCKS....don't ever try to buy from them. Not only did their website say "In Stock" but so did the sales guy when I called. He said, "Get your oder in now and you will be certain to get a board by the end of the week." Whatever.

Anyhow, my quandry is whether or not I should place an order with Spartan or PC Progress. Both get high ratings on resellerratings.com but I don't want to get my credit card on another wait and see list. Also, I work on Monday and will not be able to just check up on whether or not they will get them in.

This is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo dumb. The funny thing (and ironic) will be that in March or April, these boards will probably be for sale everywhere for much lower price. Murphy's Law.

I gotta stop ranting...

Good choice - I have ordered from them myself several times and had very good service.
