<< Frankly, I don't understand why you are supporting gamespot's decision. >>

It's called capitalism.

because, they are nuts... every other person as well will start going elsewhere and they are going to flop... it's just stupid... i dont' care how many people here would pay for reviews... MOST people who look at reviews, wouldn't.. they can be found elsewhere for zero.. i think the people who are charging money for this, are just trying to make some extra cash. i wouldn't be willing to fork out, personally...

The days of the free lunch on the internet are close to over. Expect to see more of it. How dare a company, in a capitalist economy, try and make a profit? ;)

It looks like the Internet is moving toward fee-based services. The free stuff will be there always (supported by ads) but the premium stuff will cost you.

What I want to know - IF advertising ever picks up the tab again, do you think they will do away with the fees. I seriously doubt it . . . paying for info is here to stay (whether we like it or not).

fack that BS.. don't see why you gotta be a pr1ck about it.. the man doesn't want to pay for what everywhere else has for free.. if there's not much money in this type of crap, DON'T DO IT!!!! forget the people who charge, just read elsewhere... it's freaking lame to pay for a damn review for crap sakes.... long shot.. you're not a registered member on these forums? i bet if you had to pay, you'd stop posting.. I would........

So you just rip the reviews out of the magazines at the store? Or do you take those "free" magazines home with you? IGN has gotten so large they can't afford to offer free service like they used to, much like the AT forums here.

I wouldn't have a problem with these services if it didn't cost so much. For example, I usually buy 3 games a year, each averaging $40 or so. Divided up into 3 time periods, I buy a game every 4 months. Now, say I want to see Gamespot, that's $5 a month, or $20 for 4 months. The "price" of my game has now increased by 50% to $60. And for what? 1 simple game review; my costs would go up even more if I wanted another source in order to make sure everything's objective.
