What the hell just happened to my TI-83?

Had a problem with my TI-83, so I cleared the RAM on it. It went to the confirm screen and asked if I wanted to clear. I said yes and then it turned off. Now it won't turn back on...? I took out my batteries and replaced them, still nothing. ?

I feel stupid. If anyone wants to know... when you reset your calc your brightness goes all the way up. I had to adjust back down for 2 minutes in order to start seeing it.

i've had the batteries go completely dead on a ram clear, i momentarily thought the same thing.
