what the hell is up with ppl asking for my CS cd-key?

do i have "stoopid" stamped across my forehead? err... don't asnwer that. but anyway... as i was saying... i was sorta recruited for a clan, even tho i warned the guy that i sucked at CS. he said it doesn't matter and he'll help me get better and stuff. so i'm like, ok fine. then all of a sudden, i get AIM msgs from all these ppl i dunno. i guess he gave my AIM sn to all the clan members. now recently, i get AIM msgs from all these ppl whom i dunno asking to "borrow" my cd key. hello?!?! first of all, i know all about the CS cd key thingie. u can't play online without your own unique & authentic cd key. as far as i know, there are no CS cd key keygens, so u gotta buy ur own copy. secondly, it's like i even know u?!? what the heck. i asked some dude yesterday what happened to his cd key, and he was like "i reformatted and installed XP and he lost his cd key when he formatted". well that just sucks don't it? he f*cked up and i have to pick up that tab?!?! anyway... thats all.

I don't get stuff like that either. I mean, the games 19.99, buy a new copy for gods sakes. Seems to me people who keep needing a cd key, most likely need it because they were banned from servers for cheating, and you don't need that coming back on you.

That's not as bad as what's going on in Starcraft Bnet channels.... bunch of SC-JAPAN bots in every single channle that keep spamming the same message, in which they tell users that CD key piracy is running rampant, and the only way yo protect against it is to register your SC key with them. Then they give you an email address and you are supposed to email them your key. Sad thing is that they probably get a couple dozen newbs doing it a day.

I know before version 1.3, you could play up to 5 people with the same cd key. So, when I bought my copy of cs, I let some of my friends on it. But, I could never play when 1.3 came out b/c it only allows one cd key in use at a time in a server, which explains why fatbaby can since he plays in different servers at the same time. As for cd key gens, there are keygens out there, but the codes they generate don't work (believe me, I tried ). So, I had to eat the loss and buy another copy...but yeah definitely do not give your key out, if the guy formatted and lost his cd key, it should still be on the back of his cd case if it was legit.

btw, what clan was this? I wanna laugh at 'em if I ever see them on anywhere.

when i say there are no CS keygens... i mean a working one. btw, sometimes i can play with the same cd key on more than one compsimultaneously... but sometimes i can't. but i only tried it like once or twice. thanx to my retail radeon 8500... i do have an extra cd-key. HAHAHAHAA
