To tell the truth, most cops are good people doing good jobs in a difficult field. However, when someone in a position of public trust betrays that trust by behaving maliciously or recklessly, they deserve to be called out on it. It doesn't help that a 'line of blue' usually forms where the department protects it's own at all costs, even when overwhelming evidence shows significant wrongdoing. This is drastically different than the military, where generally if you fuck up, you get the sharp end of the stick.
Of course, many people really do just dislike cops inherently, and won't take into context that at any given moment when one of these threads comes about, there are literally hundreds of thousands of LE personnel doing honorable work across our nation.

Since you would only be asking this if you were new to the internet, let me fill you in on some basic demographic trends. Here's my top five list. On the Internet, disproportionately large numbers of people:
1. Have extreme hatred for cops that they otherwise wouldn't express
2. Are or claim to be extreme laissez faire zealots.
3. Own or claim to own a large amount of firearms.
4. Claim to make 3-4x what they really make in take-home pay.
5. Claim that they would only ever date a supermodel or equivalent
