What the hell is this on my screen?

Dust blob inside lens assembly of your projector, if it is not a sealed lens assembly?

You can google for (infocus) 4805 dust blob to see discussion of issue on another projector.

I agree with mshan. That looks like some kind of dust clump or possibly a "factory-oops" scratch on the back of the glass.

You'd be amazed what can get in behind the screen on a TV. I believe someone on these forums had a similar incident with a very small spider crawling between the panel and the top glass; he thought it was dead pixels - until they started moving!

Well, in addition to this, when i put it on a white screen to see if there were any other dead/stuck pixels, i found a spot a few pixels wide/high, right at the area where the screen meets the frame, that is all messed up, like a bunch of stuck pixels. i found another area similar to this at the top (the other is at the bottom), but smaller.

in addition to this i have minor clouds and some lights at the top two corners, and i had some stuck pixels that i unstuck myself when i first got it.

Should i do an exchange? Its hard to see these problems, but im scared that i got a bad panel that will screw me later on.

Definitely do an exchange if possible. Sounds like you got a bad panel, or it got squeezed too hard during final assembly. What brand/model is this?
