A memetic polyalloy, duh :)

It's not kid-safe though, since it can form parts of itself into blades that pierce the heart or brain when you least expect it. It also disturbs your dog Wolfie.

They sell em all the time in China. I got a bunch for my buddies as a silly gift for about $0.25 USD a piece

More info and places to order it here: http://forums.somethingawful.c...d.php?threadid=2711833

As was mentioned by others, it's a cheapy toy from china that typically sells for less than a dollar. A few people in the SA thread noted that the pigs they received were not built very well and some would explode (they're filled with water or some sort of liquid) and spill out everywhere.

My sister-in-law-in-law brought some back from China or Thailand.

I saw it and immediately stated that this looks dangerous/potentially-harmful and that's probably why they haven't been cleared in the US. All my in-laws ignored my warning and gawked in amazement at the miracle they were beholding....it just blew their freaking minds. THE NEXT DAY, one of the damn things popped and just missed hitting the plasma TV and only slightly got on my daughter's arm. As I'm standing there about to erupt into another fiery rant concerning common sense and LISTENING TO ME a few of them snapped to attention and cleaned it up off the floor and wall before I could start. I still don't know WTF that liquid was.......I suppose Chinese water at best, which still sounds toxic.

So, ya, these things are basically water balloons.

Yeah, its just some stretchy plastic. Like a rubber ban when you pull it into into different shapes and let it go it rapidly comes back to what it was before. Only strange thing is how they make it go so slow. I Would guess a stretchy plastic with a highly viscous gel. The Viscosity of the gel would mean it would take alot more energy to push it back into shape which is why its going so slow.

Nope, it's something like water inside. Pretty easy to figure out. It's plastic with juuuuust enough rigidity to hold it's shape, but otherwise is very elastic. It would need to be thin.....as it is....which is why they pop so easily.

What I gathered from watching the video.

It just needs to be sticky enough to cling to the backboard, which slows its return to a resting state.

I bet if you would just squeeze it, it wouldn't do shit.

Doesn't seem so mystical.
