What the hell is this? Flea?

I have no idea what this is but we had a week of cold weather and the last two days our ambient temps have been in the high 50s low 60s. I snapped a pic of these things on my back deck. They like to jump around but I'm not sure if they are fleas or snow fleas (haven't had any snow however) or not.

It's that bug that ants have a symbiotic relationship with. FUCK, I grew up watching this on nature shows so many times and I forgot their names. It's definitely not a mite.

You know, ants protect that bug from ladybugs (who eat it). And in return, OP's bugs secrete a sweet juice from their anus for the ants to enjoy.

How big is it?

They are tiny but I found them hard to measure since they jump away. Damn things. My concern is for my cats. I went out in the yard with one of my cats and I just don't want to fleabomb my house with us hosting Christmas and all....

aphid?

but yea that looks like a termite

Termites I can deal with if that's what they are but if they are fleas I'm burning the house down.

I've had similar weather conditions and these things appeared this morning all over the garbage barrels.

They dont really look like termites and they are definitely not fleas... Just to convince yourself they are not fleas, try to let one bite you
