I've had both an MX700 and currently use an MX1000. There is no way I could go back to a corded mouse on my main machine. The cord gets in the way, it clusters the desk, etc. I've never once had a problem with signal, not has it ever been a factor in any game, FPS, RTS, RPG, none. I honestly think it was some idiot with a cheap wireless mouse who didn't know jack that started the myth that cordless mice are bad for gaming. Its simply not true.

Make more BS threads. I'm stuck at work for another hour and am bored as heck.

Corded dpi > cordless dpi.

my cordless will do 2000 DPI, my bros corded razor does 2000 DPI

2000=2000

then ergonometry (sp?) and weight

There's no tugging on the cord and there's no noticable lag. Why go with corded?

my mx700 is cordless and has a charger so no battery changing......I'm cool like that.

I love my MX Revolution. I have never had a single problem with lag, battery lasts at least a week on a single charge and takes a few hours to recharge. Plus, the scroll wheel is brilliant.

If Logitech made a corded Revolution for cheaper than the current one, I'd buy it. I'm sick of my MX610. It's motion is somewhat erratic-- I just can't be precise with it.

The best mice are corded and the cheapest (yet still good/decent) mice are corded.

The corded mice I use never have the cord get in my way...although I'm not one to have a ton of crap all over my desk, and it is plenty large for the cord to rest on it without immediately dropping over and edge and promoting a snagging point.

I really think the major selling point of cordless is that they're chic; the people who claim they couldn't live without it are most likely kidding themselves to justify their decisions. There are only the few who really need it for the already mentioned niche uses such as HTPC use, or other elaborate setups where a cord just won't work, or for laptops on the go, etc...

Granted, there are some decent cordless mice out there, but I'll probably never buy another one other than my MX700 which I ended up giving to my parents. I've used the G7 but I'd still take my MX510 over it, it still hasn't improved enough nor do I think wireless ever will. Wireless is always going to have some inherent latency (relative to corded) that I'd love to avoid as much as possible. Rechargeable batteries/docking stations largely solve the issue of replacement power, however there is still the issue of occasional inconveniences and batteries are still going to add weight that I don't want. Cost is almost always going to be higher relative to otherwise similar (or even superior) speced/performing corded mice.

Given a little time to setup and decent desk it isn't that hard to make the cord a non-factor. Factor in all the other pros/cons and the only thing I can come up with in favor of wireless is the chic-factor.

Cordless mice are pretty convenient, but I can't stand the added weight when I'm gaming.

Since the market supports cordless mice in a big way, I'd venture to say it was a pretty good idea.

Because cords suck and get in the way?

That said I really should get myself a cordless mouse to go with my cordless keyboard.

And lag. I know it's been mostly addressed in modern cordless mice, but I'd guess that there is still a bit more signal lag on cordless mice than corded.
