I agree. Web pages are optimized for 1024x768 or 800x600 in most cases. What's with the crazy high resolutions when you don't need them ? I take it as high as it'll go when i need the room for web dev, but browsing-wise... I don't need to blind myself.

<-- uses 1024x768 on a 20" monitor (no glasses/contacts).

I use 1280x960 at 85hz on my 700nf crt.

What I don't get is why people use resolutions that aren't 4:3; 1280x1024 is 2.5:2, and 1280x960, 1600x1200, 1024x768 is 4:3. There was a thread a LONG time ago about this and such.

I don't know either, but my LCD's native res is 1280x1024, so that's what I run at. Anything else would look like ass.
