What the hell is "love"?

I don't even know what love is i think.

Is it that feeling you get when you can't live without a person? Is it more than a feeling?

What is the definition of love for another person for you?

when you think about the person on every waking moment, always thinking of the ways to make her/him happy, wanting nothing but the best for the person. It is almost self-sacrificial, doesn't want anything in return.

now that my friend, is love. I believe love from parent-to-child is much stronger and more pure than spouse-to-spouse

Love is about mutual caring, understanding (or at least trying to understand/accept) and nuturing.
It's lilke you genuinely care about someone and want to make them feel nice becuase they feel the same about you.
You feel totally comfortable when hugging someone you love.

Every waking moment? Nah, that would be an obsession.

But yes, as a parent of two kids, I can guarantee that there is nothing stronger than the love between a parent and child.

As much as I'd rather not quote scripture on ATOT, 1st Corinthians 13 sums it up very well:

Love is patient and kind; love is not jealous or boastful; it is not arrogant or rude. Love does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrong, but rejoices in the right. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends.

If you feel for another in this way and can understand and empathize with this quote, then you are feeling love.
