It COULD be Bells Palsy or any number of other things that arn't serious, but as I said it COULD also be a stroke & I'd certainly rather go to the hospital & find out I didn't have to then the reverse!

Reminds me of the stories you hear about people ignoring chest pains...

Goto a doctor ASAP and dont waste your valuable time reading what other people are saying; every moment may be important right now. I have seen this happen to my grandma and it was bad. I won't write what happended to her though.

I'm 19 and have had chest pains for a long time. I've done the whole chest x-ray, ekocardiogram, and tons of other testing and they couldn't find anything. I'm healthy and for the most part active with no complications. Best I can figure it's just anxiety (dad suffers from it so it's probably hereditary and I've got it as well)...

A lot of time chest pains are just from anxiety, or panic attacks...

Then I noticed that my right eye was getting dry like I wasn't blinking, and it feels like every time I blink my right eye only goes half way down. I absolutely cannot wink with my right eye (always used to be able to of course). Just nothing happens when I try, like I have no control over the muscle whatsoever. I also can't eat properly because I can't move the right side of my mouth - when I smile only the left side smiles so I have this weird half smile thing, and I can't help it. This all started this morning and I'm starting to freak out - I've gone the whole day of work manually pulling down my right eyelid so the eye doesn't get too dry and start to sting.

Does anyone have any idea what the hell is going on? This has never happened to me before. I have a day off tomorrow, should I see my doctor?

You should go to a doctor just in case, but if that's what it is it will go away on its own.

yea sounds like it, my dad had that twice. had to keep his left eye covered with a patch because he couldnt blink it.

Can't believe you are treating something as potetnially DEADLY as a stroke as if it were a joke. Asking for advice here, instead of getting to the doctor asap?

The two people I have known who had a stroke both started out with symptoms similar to what you are describing, and both of them were DEAD within 12 months after the symptoms first appeared.

(They delayed going to see the doctor, and when they finally did seek medical attention, they didn't bother to take the medication that would have lowered their blood pressure and perhaps saved their lives. Hope you won't be as stupid.)

there was a guy that shot his neighbor and then later himself. I don't hink a stroke had anything to do with that tho...

My high school English teacher had this happen to him once. Apparently, he had some kind of minor stroke. It wore off after a day or two, IIRC. GO SEE YOUR DOCTOR NOW.

You're right Patrick, after the first few responses I decided to go to the doctor. It is indeed a Bells Pallsy, and I'm stuck like this for a few months. Very frustrating but thankfully not a stroke or some weird brain disease. Thanks for your help guys.

Not necessarily for a few months. It could resolve tomorrow or next week or the week after. It leaves as quickly as it comes.

I remember about him, the stroke guy was a different person. he posted his list of symtpoms, asked people to make a diagnosis, then disappeared never to post again
