What the hell is going with AMD?

How come haven't released their 266 FSB Athlons yet? It's driving me nuts! I've been waiting over a month and half to put my computer together. Its really starting to piss me off.

I've been to pricewatch and PCProgress is the only store offering 1.2 Ghz. How come there isn't any other places offering it? Is it on pre-order or in stock?

no.. they HAVE NOT been released.. after having one on backorder for 2 weeks i decided to cancel my order after talking to an authorized amd reseller who told me AMD was pushing release back till the 2nd quarter. The 2 places that say they have the 266 have them on backorder.. and they have no clue as to when they will be released.. i also had been waiting for 1.5 months (with all other parts ready to go)..

now i just got me a 1.2 unlocked and am going through the newbi nightmares of trying to OC the fsb..

Why not just get a 200MHz athlon and unlock it, and run it at 133(266). They're probably almost the exact same chips, just defaulted to different FSB's and multipliers...

probably true but they're asking a premium price for them though if you can get one!

tccomputers.com will have the 1GIG 266, but not till the end of feb. 279.00

My 1.2 is unlocked. In the BIOS of my KT7A there is a 1200(100) and a 1200(133) option and I can just choose the latter.

Whats the difference?

For all we know the 1.2(133) could be locked at a 9 multiplier!

So these current 1.2s are actually better.
