Okay. SO I build my new system today after several days of troubleshooting (my leadtek 6800gt was DOA, so I got a new BFG 6800GT today). After I start formatting my Raptor dive for windows my computer shuts off (after 50% NFTS format). I am like, hmmm.. So I restart my system, go to my bios of my Neo2 Platunum, and my CPU temp is rising to almost 65 degrees!! It then proceeds to cut off again. My CPU temo keeps rising and riding. WHat is wrong??

I had monarch install shen-etsu thermal paste and a thermaltake venus 7 while I wait for my xp-90 and panaflo to get in the mail (hopefully soon). I did not have my computer on that long and monarch loaded the new 1.3 bios. ANy help guys??? This is frustrating as hell b/c I cannot even load windows. It says my system temp is 32 degrees while my processor is 65 and it cuts off.

I know the fan is running b/c I see it and hear it. I didn't attach the heat sink b/c Monarch did. The bios also showed the CPU fan spinning at 3500 rpms

Monarch are a great company, but even great companies make mistakes, try reseating the heat sink

Time to re-seat the heat sink. Just because Monarch did it once and shipped to you doesn't mean they didn't make a mistake or something came lose in transit. Short of CPU or mobo failure, there is no way your CPU temps should climb like that when your just in the BIOS if the heat sink is no properly.

Edit: Beat me to it RadiclDreamer. :)

I hope you know you need to clean off the thermal paste and reapply after taking off the heatsing; you don't just pull it off and place it back on.
