What the hell happened?

At the end of the summer, one of the girls I work with and I were kinda friends w/ benefits. I went to college and when I returned for thanksgiving break, there was still the spark so things kinda just picked up where they left off. But since the beginning of my christmas break (dec 19th), absolutely nothing has happened. Anybody got an answer as to why?
