i guess you can say.. if thats not ur camera, then since its unlikely the card was stolen and returned, that it was a card that was returned for some reason.... and u got it and the manufacturer didn't properly erase the data on the card

Whoa freaky. Most likely the card being used before and repackaged seems like the most likely answer though.

Hmmm I can't see how you can recover photos from a flash drive. It's not like a hard drive where the data on the platter is just marked deleted.
Interesting nevertheless.
Anyways, I used my R-studio to do a scan on my 2GB SD card, it won't read anything :(

Whoa, thx.

That is roughly 2-3 weeks before I bought my camera and SD card.
And no, that's not my camera. I've got a Powershot A520.

So, I guess this proves the theory of repackaging.

Virtualgames0: If you're interested, try mmCard, it works quite well. The trial will let you preview photos. Should work the same way on your card.

now what sucks is they don't tell you this is a refurb or repacked product and pawn it off as brand new.

Isn't it possible that the pictures were taken on the card without you realizing it? You can't have possibly kept the card in your possession ever since it was purchased. Do you have any friends or a girlfriend that could have taken and used the card/camera and then put it back?

Yeah, the card has been in my camera, in my posession ever since I got it this summer.

I think I would know if it somehow got taken to New Brunswick, hundreds of kilometers away...

Besides, the repackaging explanation makes sense.

Well, I don't really care that much.

The card is in perfect condition, and has no defects.

After all, it's just a couple photos.

Now that I'm thinking about it it's perfectly reasonable for them to put it back on the shelf.

Maybe they work at the manuf of the SD Card and that's part of the quality testing that they perform prior to shipping. :laugh:

Perhaps your camera takes pictures in another dimension, and the dimension it takes photo's is close en ought to ours that even though in this dimension they are 100KM's away, in that one they are your alter ego friends and you were there taking pictures of them. Maybe right now, in that dimensions *tech Off Topic forums, they are discussing who your friends are and how these pictures got on the card?

To test my theory you'll have to take many more pictures and delete them and then use your software to recover them. Even if it doesn't work, it might have been just a one time anomaly do to a quark in the space time continuum. Right now interstellar time travelers are heading into our time line to make cor

eh, it's probably not worth the effort, but it's the principle. it's a used card and they sold it unbeknownst to you as new.
