Ya know, Cliff, I had a whole bunch typed out here, but I decided to drop it. I don't like UPS. I think they suck. I'd rather ship my packages via FedEx (and spend a bit more) or Priority Mail (and spend a bit less).

The reason for my supposed "speed reading" is that your writing style is messy and hard to follow. Sorry, but that's the truth. It's also hard to pick up what's sarcasm in typed conversation. Some of your statements I took to be sarcastic, but I guess they aren't.

Don't take it that I'm pissed with you, I'm not; I just don't think getting in an argument over UPS is the way I'd like to spend my time--ie, I'm done with this thread. If you feel like spieling off another longwinded nonsensical post, feel free. I'm outta here.

But I'll be back the next time UPS fux0rs up another delivery. :|

Well, I wouldn't be so mad, if I hadn't had alot of other bad experiences. Like all the boxes that have just been torn up!!

I'm using Airborne Express from now on. They are always here before 10:00am, and just are nice to work with.

Hey CliffC,

All I'm saying is this: With my LIMITED understanding and my LIMITED intelligence, I still think UPS sucks! This is my true opinion based on my LIMITED dealings with UPS. Of course you are entitled to your opinion and I am glad your experience has been mostly positive. I wish I could say the same about my experience with UPS.

Just the whole business strategy of UPS is kinda weird. If they want to deliver to residential, how come they are not more "friendly" towards residents? Like, they don't deliver in the evenings or on weekends. What's up with that?

FedEx has always been rather ingenious and I don't know how they do it. My packages delivered by FedEx always ends up on my doorstep when I get home from work and nobody in my building gave the FedEx guy a key to the building either.

I am worried every time I have something delivered UPS also.

Several times I never received any of the 3 little yellow stickers and the package got sent back to the shipper. Now I have things sent to my place of employement. UPS does a much better job when they deliver to a buisness, but I still have seen and had minor problems. I pay very close attention to the tracking details from their website now.

The last case I bought was sent UPS. I heard the UPS guy come here at work and went to get my case. I saw a big box on the truck and thought it was my case, but he didn't take it off the truck. The website says it was scheduled for delivery that day so I got worried and called the 1-800 number. They gave the local hub my concern and had them call me. The local hub said that they didn't have the package and that it wasn't on the truck. They said that they called the driver and even had him check. Well, later that day the same UPS guy came back, (he delivers in the morning and picks up in the afternoon), and he gave me the case. It was the same box I saw that morning!! He only made a small mistake and I did get my case that day, but the local hub didn't have a clue and obviously lied to me about calling the driver on the truck.

Each time I've gone to the local hub to get a package there are at least 3 people who have a problem with their package. I felt real bad for this one lady. She ordered some outfits for some girls for some holiday play or something. They had the show on the weekend, and this was a Friday night. She had expected the package several days ago, but UPS didn't know where the package was. One hub had told this lady that it was at the Palatine, IL hub, but Palatine said that they didn't have it and couldn't track it. These hubs just kept blaming each other.

Yeah, UPS hubs are a joke. I've gone to one during a shift change, how chaotic this was. I had to stand there while like 500 people got searched and had to go through metal detectors. The guard doing the metal detectors was the only person on duty, she just told me to hold on for 20 mins. I'm like, it's raining, and it's 9:00pm, and I really need this package.

we ups, one time we ordered 3 monitors, and we received the first set ok. The cdw agent, accidently had sent us 2 shipments of the 3, so the first we recieved, was shipped fedex 2 day, because he thought he had forgotten to send out the order, that order had gotten shipped ups, and thos came beat, and ripped and messed up, but because we are nice customers, we sent them back, via ups again. I think ups ground, for small packages is ok, stuff that ain't breakable, but stuff that might be, I send usps.

Hey, that company that I work at just got bought out by UPS, but anyways....

My Scenario:
I ordered a home-theater receiver about two years ago through regular ground shipping. Two weeks after it had been shipped from the vendor, I called them and asked them where my package was, and they told me that it had already been delivered. I told them I never received anything, so they called UPS, and found out that instead of delivering it to me in Illinois, they delivered it to some guy in California a week before, whose name or address had no similiraty whatsoever to mine. I'm sure this guy was enjoying my receiver until UPS came back to pick it up:|. I was so upset, I told the vendor to give me a new one, and that they could take up this issue with UPS themselves.:|

Well, this is awesome...

I got my package today, but if you track it, it says "in transit"

needless to say, the box was ALL torn to hell....

Luckily they were just chrome tips for my honda accord, so they couldn't really get damaged.

I built a computer for this one girl.... man! She shipped it and the monitor home for the summer. She said that the monitor was fine but the computer didn't work at all. She called UPS, who then said, "We'll fix it." They took it and ended up loosing it. She got $400 back.

1. She insured it for $600.
2. They damaged it, so that's her $600 right there.
3. They lost it on top of damaging it.
4. Who ever heard of UPS fixing computers?

Another UPS tale:

My girlfriend shipped her computer from MailBoxes Etc. When we got it, the floppy drive was pushed in. I let that go. But I opened it up and the hard drive cage was bent towards the back of the case!! I have no idea how that could happen via shipping, especially with no visible damage to the outside of the case.

UPS is ............ interesting.

werk, I'm sorry bout the formatting being so bad for you but so many people biatch about run-on paragraphs that I try to seperate my replying from the other posters wording. But this paragraph is just for you so you don't have to read anything past this first one. I really wish you had let it all out because I've not felt that you or anyone has been an @ss as I hope they feel I haven't tried to be one either. I have no problem with anyone hating UPS as I'm sure there are thousands that do. And yes a company that ships 1/3(fedex) the packages of UPS will charge more and will probably get it there in a less handled way, but you've always had that chioce. I guess the draw of cheaper has been too overwhelming in the past. And the USPS will get it there in probably the best shape as they only deliver maybe 1/50th the packages of UPS. But as far as my post being nonsensical I'd have to say that is truly an opinion. The gist of it was that you thought that Fedex and the USPS delivered as many packages as UPS but in reality they deliver less than 1/2 what UPS does. But I've not and wouldn't argue with anyone over their experiences with UPS because I'm sure they are all real and for me to do so 'would be' nonsensical. And I don't know how many times I've told this keyboard to not type sarcasticly!;) But is a MS Natural so what do you expect.:D

Rogue, I understand completely. But he at least yelled "Do over" didn't he?;)

Thanatopsis, I was just joshin with you guy, not ridiculing.:p;):p

TheManiac, it sounds as though you are having some severe trouble with packages being torn up and I believe you should seek the attention of the Center manager. Torn up packages isn't and shouldn't be the norm for any customer. And how dare you think that a company that has 500 people at just one of there centers stop operations, in the middle of a shift change no less, so that you could get your package right away.:disgust: Please dude don't even make statements like that, it sounds lunatic fringish.:Q I'm mean sit in your car for 20 min. and get out of the rain, get your package and be home by 10.:D No biggie. And from your last post I just have one question, Do you live in Harlem or Compton or somewhere along those lines cause it sounds like UPS is flying down your street and just tossing your sh!t out the door?.:frown::confused::frown::confused:

Webbed, I'm confused. You give 3 examples in your first post and then say, I now call the hub when I have a problem with a package (which is almost 80% of the time). Then in your last post you say, This is my true opinion based on my LIMITED dealings with UPS. Now in the context that I've read it I'd say LIMITED would mean FEW so is that 80% of the 3 packages or am I missing something is the wording? But as I said to TheManiac, if you are having continued problems with the packages you are recieving then go to the Center and seek out the Center manager. But sending an "AnyCo. Sucks" letter to that company is a sure way to see that it is 86'd to the trashcan without it ever being read.:Q And they DON'T want to deliver to residences, they just don't want to let any business go to a competitor without being able to make up those dollars elsewhere. And UPS delivers "AIR" packages on the weekend just like Fedex although I don't believe Fedex delivers anything other than that either. The USPS delivers "everything" that is in their offices 6 days a week. Oh and if Fedex is getting "inside" a locked building either the manager is letting them in or it's called "Breaking and Entering".;)

PG, Some people just have a hard time admitting a mistake as this driver did. And I'm sure he got his "call" because it is actually an email that he recieves on his brown "clipboard". And passing the buck is a common occurence in a company of any magnitude, especially when noone can prove the other wrong.

Red, Actually I won't accept just anything but I've learned of better ways to get results and I normally don't wait until it's happened to me over and over again. I think I may have kinda clouded my statement about my UPS packages in that I haven't recieved but a couple roughed up and none damaged to the extent that the people here are complaining of, so maybe that made it seem I'm soft. He11 no I'm a hard nosed bastage just like all the other males on this forum!;) But like I've said, if you go to the Center and speak with the Center manager about your problems and concerns and you get his name and he doesn't make an attempt to get some satisfaction for you then that letter to the Regional manager noting the name of the Center manager and that you had discussed this problem with him will I guarentee get some results.:D

Hey guys don't stop biatching but remember to make sure you go see the Manager in person and get his name and I'm sure you'll do better than just biatching to the driver.

You know, it seems like UPS always screws up my order when it's for stuff for my car. Exhaust, compute chip, etc...all screwed up. Hundreds of other stuff...no problem.

Maybe UPS guys are big car fans?
