What the heck is wrong with Gigabyte nowadays?

They used to be a great board, but as I have researched a new build with the 1155 sandy bridge chip I noticed the countless reviews of reboot issues across the P67 to Z68 line...

Where has the quality gone?

I have been a fan of the Gigabyte boards since the days of S3 and DS3 chipsets with my core 2 processors. However reading the reviews I dont think I will chance a current board from them....

I have been following this issue for a while now - there is an extensive thread at overclockers about it.

The latest posts seem to be thinking it is a memory issue that is causing the boot problem for some people. I returned a brand new Gigabyte z68 board a while back - didn't want to take a chance with a work machine.

Probably a mistake returning the board, just couldn't take the risk with this particular build.

Maybe things have gone down on their intel side, but Im perfectly happy with the 990XA-UD3 I bought for my recent amd build.

Easy.

Go with ASUS , They are the best top quality motherboard makers in the world.
Then its Gigabyte ; but as in this thread it has flaws.

Both companies build their boards with quality BUR and components.

ASUS always releases BIOS updates for all their motherboards.

Isn't there a Gigabyte BIOS update for your board which would fix the issue? gl

On the flipside I just swapped out a Asus M4A87TD for a Gig 970-UD3. Nothing but problems for 3 months with that board. Same hardware I now run flawlessly.
