What the heck is with TORnament

Just another grammar thread:

I keep hearing people, mostly sports announcers, pronounce it TOR-nament.

I cannot find any dictionary which allows this pronunciation.

TOR-ist (for tourist) has been used by some folks as well.

ehh, what's the deal?
