It does not appear on my PC.
However, when friends come over and try to log into my wireless router, it seems like the browser trys to go to conduit instead of google. Is it some sort of viral/toolbar/web search redirect thing?
The conduit.engine and conduit.toolbar is a PUP (potentially unwanted program). I'll call it like I see it: Conduit is Malware despite the fact that Conduit claims to be a legitimate enterprise! Just google "conduit.engine wiki".
Conduit bundles a hidden "toolbar" and other apps with other companies' software. Conduit pays them a kickback because those companies are willing to hide the fact from the end user that Conduit products are being allowed to secretly install, along with the product the end user actually wanted.
Safer-Networking's Spybot Search&Destroy website has this to say:
Conduit.Engine installs along other toolbars powered by Conduit. Uninstall does not remove operational toolbar components for Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome. User benefit is questioned.

When you view the above webpage you'll understand why a google search for "conduit.engine" or "conduit.toolbar" turns up literally thousands of complaints asking why they can't get this crap uninstalled, why it comes right back after (supposedly) uninstalling it....the list of complaints is endless.
Tell your friends to download Spybot Search&Destroy. It's a great PUP killer.
