What the heck is "Still Image Monitor" (STIMON)?

I'm trying to clean up the startup files in my OS and was wondering what this program is. Is it important? Can I remove it from startup to free up some resources? Does anybody care?😕

If you have an HP scanner, it's what allows you to scan. You can remove it from startup if you don't need to scan. I'd suggest using MSCONFIG to easily disable and reenable it. You'll need to reboot each time.

I have too with my Epson scanner, I have just kept it there.

i have a Memorex scanner and i removed that line in my startup from the registry without having any problems.

anywayz this is a good site to go to check which are the useless stuff in startup.
