ha ha ha,no way, man everytime i see one of these theres some old hippy in the driver seat, all they need to do is to add a couple of flowers and peace signs and they will be set.

but think about it, i really didnt think the new beetle was going to make it, but damn it did, so you never know, VW knows what they are doing, oh BTW i love the jetta, i want one.

Hey, that's VW for ya. Take an obsolete platform and update it so that it looks more hideous than its original incarnation = Pop culture success :)

Every notice that all the terrorists in those "rescue the hostage" movies always drive VW Microbuses?

if they market it as an suv, they'll sell like hotcakes... "microbus" just won't do it..."microtank" on the otherhand...

Yeah...that Microbus isn't my cup of tea either but I've heard that the VW dealers in the US are anticipating this to be another big seller. Guess that the "retro" fad is red hot now.

Not just "Back to the Future" but Chuck Norris type movies like "Delta Force" also has terrorists driving them. There are other because back in college me and my buddies would reant the movies and laugh when ever we see a Microbus.

Yesterday the winds were really high here in the Taxichusetts. I was driving up I-95 and saw one get tossed from lane to lane. When I pulled next to it, the driver was white as a sheet and has a deathgrip on the steering wheel.

Ya think bringing back the VW "Thing is next"?

VW van owners are the slowest drivers on earth, followed closely by Volvo Wagon owners. It's a good thing I've gotten more tolerant and patient in my old age. :)

Toolman: Obviously you haven't encountered those of us who drive the Volvo turbo wagons. :D

Its COOL.

You Americans have a very different taste to the rest of the world.
It rocks inside... and the auto gear-lever looks neat.

Dan, Even Volvo turbos. Volvo drivers are by nature conservative and cautious and often times are slow drivers.

<< Ya think bringing back the VW "Thing is next"? >>

The Thing was a flop the first time around. The Microbus and the Beetle were sucessful. I like Microbus concept and I want one.

You never saw me get a Volvo turbo sideways in a hard corner.:) I have also raced a Volvo driver before. Not much of a contest because I was in a Miata and he was in an 850R. Damn factory hotrods.

I like these things. I'd rather have one of the old school vw buses but hey I guess I could settle for one of these. Get some flower curtains on the windshield and a Visualize World Peace bumper sticker and I'll be all set.

I think it looks awesome. I wouldn't laugh, a good portion of us were probably conceived in the back of one of those! ;)

Just for the record, I think Volvos are great, I'd luv to own one but we are a family of 6 and a dog and are a mini van family.
