What the he11?!!! No product key with my new XP pro package...

I ordered the windows xp from the hot deal that was here last week. My father in law owns a business and he said i could order it with his companies info. I just got it today and there was no product key inside.... I was looking forward to upgrading from the home edition.
Who should i call or email? Has anyone seen this before? If you dont believe me i will be taking pics shortly... This is a major bummer....

My first guess would be to call microsoft for the key, but i dunno since you ordered it in the name of your father-in-laws business...

He wont mind calling, and since i technically work for him, that isnt the problem... I was just really surprised that there was no key..

its called an e-mail address. you know? groups of characters make a name/org, an @ sign in there somewhere, maybe a .com or a .net to route the thing? its been around before, it appears you are new to the concept.

if you were smart enough to go to head over to the website the e-mail refrences, you could call the 800 number there....

and if you're wondering how i know this particular company did the promo...well you would know that if you

A: looked at the return portion of the UPS label that says: SUNRISE IDENTITY and has an adress
B: checked your cc statement

any more questions?

Who pee'd in your cornflakes. You sound like you work at a helpdesk. Thats why i posted on the forums, you know.. a place to ask questions. The reason i posted this was that i was wondering if this happened to anyone else and i wondered what they did or if i just overlooked the key somewhere.
Why post if you are going to act like a jackass?

I wouldn't say that. It's very possible PsychoAndy might be the only one to answer your problem later on. Don't write people off only 303 posts in.

Id rather take no answer at all then be bilittled for asking a valid question. I looked around MS's site at their numbers and they charge the crap outta you. Ill just keep looking...

You are a wise man, but I wouldn't count on PsychoAndy to have an intelligent contribution, because he hasn't had a helpful post in last 200 threads in 6 days.

Phocas - Call MS help center...they can be very helpful.

Use a keygen or any of the thousands of working keys floating around

That's about the lamest damn advice I've seen in this thread. Jerks like you are the reason XP has an anti piracy policy in effect. :disgust:

Phocus, if you have a legit copy, then call microsoft and get a key. They will not charge you.

TRUE

Just call MS or the Promo company, and tell them what happened, they will probably send you a whole new kit for your troubles.
