Anything is possible but 1 things for sure ...good PSU or not ECS/PC chips are notorious for being picky about the PSU that is used...

do you think i should go for a different motherboard? it seems to me like its a motherboard issue... if it were ram i would think the computer would freeze or just turn off, not perform a shutdown.

Choice is up to you as ECS has made a many satisfied Customers on my end but personally I don't use em...

ok, i emailed ecs tech support, and they said that it could be because the motherboard isn't correctly grounded. i dont see how that could be the problem, seeing as i had installed the motherboard on the risers correctly. anyhow, im gonna what nocturnal suggested and try it on a piece of cardboard. if that doesn't work, im saying screw it and getting a different motherboard.
