I'm trying to make this image, and I need to use a frame from American History X. I'm running it on WinDVD with win2k SP2. So I take the screen shot and and paste it into Photoshop 5.5, and I hit play and it's playing in photoshop!!!

What the fudge...this makes no sense. Does anyone know how to take a Screen shot of a movie ...if it's even possible with this setup?

You can try playing the movie, pausing it, then hitting ATL+Print Screen, then pasting it in Photoshop. I haven't tried it, as I have a hardware decoder, but that might work.

I thought WinDVD was one of the few programs with a screenshot button.

Load up PowerDVD, it has the screenshot function. I should know, I watched Basic Instinct with it ;)

Use printscrn. Paste into Photoshop. Take another printscrn of the desktop with the photoshop window open. Close current image. Paste clipboard to new image, crop out what you want to see.

Problem solved.

PowerDVD has an option window dedicated to taking screen shots and still-pix

I can guarantee you that you can take quality screen shots with PowerDVD with ease

I don't know anything about WinDVD.. I use PowerDVD and very happy with it.. give that a try
