I need to record about 5 seconds of audio from a dvd while it's playing on my computer. Then I need to record about 5 seconds of the video with audio from another place and then I need a simple screenshot.

What can I use to accomplish this?
 
The 5 second audio clip and the screen shot are easy. For the 5 seconds of audio, you can just loop your line-out to your line-in and record. For the screenshot, you can use PowerDVD and take a screenshot where you want.

For the 5 seconds of audio/video, you'll probably need to do some DVD ripping. If you get the software to do that, you'll be able to get your audio clip and your screenshot even easier. Take a look at Doom9.org.
