It was down around 950 points earlier. It bounced back a bit.

Edit: I think the low was down over 1000 points today.

This is not very spanktastic. Oh well...luckily none of my invested money is needed anytime soon.

Why the sharp rebound? Bargain hunters?
Volatility ;)

This is triggered by Greece (and other govs) but I think a lot of people have thought it was running hot, probably a lot are simply looking to get out while the getting's good and lock in some profits.

Gold hit 1200.
I happen to have a few oz laying around. Started calling the supplier I bought from on Monday and they have yet to "have the time" to take my info for a sell back. Not sure what that means but I want to sell now.

And no. Not to you guys. Questionable character.

So it fell almost 10% at one point? How far does it have to fall for them to shut down the exchange? Is it 10%?

And to think I wondered if I made a mistake when I sold a few shares two weeks ago.

Bouncing back now, it dropped over 600 points, most of it in just a few minutes.

True story-Apple (AAPL) has been in the mid-250s most of this week, has been in the 270s maybe two weeks ago. I decided to buy 100 shares at 240 but entered my order wrong and bought 240 shares at 240.xx. AAPL then fell like a stone to 198.xx-in a couple minutes I was down almost 10 grand on my blunder. Fortunately AAPL bounced back and I sold off the excess shares I bought at a slight profit (enough to pay for a clean pair of underwear).

Maybe 20%? I remember it's an awful number.

It's rebounding back because the initial selling wave that plunged us down -1000 points was an overreaction, as tends to happen with the markets when extremely good or bad news comes out. Just like anyone, traders are subject to bouts of panic and fear that make them act in ways they normally wouldn't.
