I don't see an options link/tab in my contacts.

Example

I have add contact there, no options....
:(

Are you using the newer or older version of Gmail? In the top rightmost corner, there's a link for "Newer version" or "Older version."

The older version does not have this functionality, the new one does.

Nope, no mention of old or new version in the top right, or bottom for that matter. The only mention of anyting like that is the top left it does say Gmail beta.

I don't have it, either, but I use Gmail through my Google Apps account. I don't think Google Apps mail uses the new Gmail interface yet.

Ahh thats the problem, I would need to "upgrade" my browser to IE 7 or FF2.0. I only use IE 6 here at work. To many issues with our vendors and such to use IE7 or FF.

All of the IM networks seem to be fairly open. There are many third party applications for each network. Gmail is now a third party AIM application.

Note: AIM, colored labels, group chat and rich emoticons only work in the latest version of Gmail, currently available for Internet Explorer 7 and Firefox 2. Please upgrade your browser to take advantage of these new features.
