What term do you use about someone you are in a relationship with?

Well, I had one I called bitch, not because "she was my bitch", but because "she was a REAL bitch."

Now, I usually stick to "girlfriend" as it is more accurate/respectful for the current situation.

Depending on the situation:

girlfriend (most often used)
partner (in more formal situations)
fiancée/wife (less questions)

and my new one is "boss", since she's my manager now

I have always referred my S.O.'s as ladyfriends, and it's somewhat difficult not to.

What do you call your significant other?

a ladyfriend is a either a pal or a fuck buddy.

I have used that in the past...but my SO's I will call my girlfriend if we are seriously dating which still has a different meaning. If more than that I will add, like the woman I live with or living with me.
