What temps can I get with a 50 watt Peltier on my P3?

Say if I put a 50 watt Pelt on my socket P3700 and connect my renegade coldplate to the hot side of the pelt, what temperatures for the CPU should I expect? The coldplate uses active cooling and my guess is that it would keep the hot side about 35C. If the the DeltaT Max is 65C, than wouldn't that make my CPU -30C? I doubt it would be that cold, but just thinking about it makes me giddy. Can anyone shed some light on this?

You won't get down to -30 C. Maybe somewhere between 0 C and -10. I would think you would want the coldplate on the cold side of the pelt too, and a heatsink/fan combo on the hot side. Possibly a second cold plate between the hot side and heatsink, but on my pelt the copper cold plate is right up next to the cpu core.

Make sure you guard against condensation, and FYI on my 72 watt peltier the temp will never drop below -10 C, but then again my cpu is running hot and fast, and my P3B-F always seemed to report the temps a little high.

yea but is 52 watts sufficient for a socket P3? I'm not sure how to calculate that heat disappation stuff so I'm not quite sure what I'll need for it. I don't think I have enough power to go around with a 70 watt pelt as my PS is already almost fully loaded; hell I sure hope it can take another 52 watts. Let's assume I'll be running my P3 at 1.7 volts at a very high speed... will that be less heat disappation than higher voltage at the same speed?

uhhhhhhhhh your making this harder than it needs to be. A peltier will work if its 52 watts or 70 watts, and if you have a 300 watt PS then you shouldn't have anything to worry about. If your worried about not having enough juice from the PS then get the 52 watt peltier. If you want better cooling power get the 70 or 72 watt peltier.

Or you can be lazy like me and buy the whole damn thing pre-made. Peltiers are good but I wouldn't want to try my hand at making some peltier heatsink combo. I just paid the extra 10 or 20 bucks and had it pre-assembled and ready to slap onto the cpu.
