What temperature do you keep your house in the winter?

Gas is free at our apartment. And there is no thermostat.

So I open the oven door and turn it on to 400 degrees. I keep it on until the whole place is toasty.

Using your gas oven to heat your home is a good way to suffocate yourself. Gas ovens vent their combustion gasses straight into your kitchen. Don't do it.

Real men don't heat their house in the winter :colbert:
LOL, as of Thursday evening, I hadn't turned on the heat yet this year. Indoor temperature had dropped to 48F. You could see your breath while we were eating dinner & the wife apparently decided it was time that I started the coal stove. So, an hour spent patching a hole in the hopper that I've neglected to repair since I turned it off last spring, and fired that baby up. Now, I'm flipping my middle finger at mother nature, with it nice and toasty warm in the house (as snow flakes fall outside.)

Right now I keep the bedroom windows open at night and it gets sub-50F outside, so it's probably in the mid 60's-ish inside. I love piling on the covers.

15C when I'm not home, or if I'm in my office, or sleeping. 20C in morning because I'm super cold in the morning, no matter how hot it is. When I'm eating or watching TV, I usually set it around 18C. I have a programmable thermostat so it's pretty much preset for my needs and I just override it depending on what I'm doing, if I'm not working.

Really the morning is probably the time where the furnace is used the most. It could be like +40 and I'd still be cold. I hate coming out of bed in the morning.

For me, between 9 degrees celcius and -2 degrees celcius is ideal to have a good deep sleep. Above 20 degrees celcius i burn up. I love the sun, but i hate it when it is high temperature. No more then 19 degrees celcius is ideal.

(-2,9)C !

Yes I can see that being really cozy if you have a really thick comforter and lots of layers. But damn that's still cold to keep your house at!

Few things beat wrapping up in a cozy blanket while sitting near the fireplace and reading a good book on a cold day.
