"Pinned"?

Chrome. USE IT!

I admit it has been quite a while, but the last time I used Chrome it barely worked. Maybe I'll give it a try?

Right click a tab and then 'pin' it. You can do so in Firefox and Chrome. Not sure about IE

Firefox sucks so bad on every machine I have it on. How many fucking updates can they have. Memory issues, slow open issues, freezing issues. The last good version was 4 and that was the beginning of the downhill express for them. What are they at now 9? Seems like they have a new version number waiting for me to restart Firefox every other week.

I agree firefox sucks. Mine crashes ALL TEH FUCKING TIME. Problem is I use one set of pinned tabs for work and one for personal. So I use different browser so my cookies/logged in sites and profiles are different. Can't figure out how to do that with two sets of chrome browsers.

I actually was a die hard FF user up till about 6 months ago. I never had much of a problem with it. Couldn't pull me away from several of the extensions. But I finally made the switch to Chrome and couldn't be happier. Faster, more stable, more compliant, and now even has most of the extensions FF had. Memory hogging was never a big issue for me mainly cause I have lots of it.

Firefox works fine for me. I'm on V10 Nightly. I think the newest official release is V7. I also like Opera. I don't like Chrome at all. It might be Webkit I don't like, cause Midori gets on my nerves too.

Huh funny. Again I never really had any issue with FF and while I'm now married to Chrome I still like FF.

I use the "tree style tab" addon for FF so the pinned tabs aren't as useful. Very nice for having lots and lots of tabs (usually 15-25). And it gives you more vertical screen space.

What about Webkit do you not like? Seems like one of the fastest and most compliant browsers around no?

But like you I've never had any issues with FF. Actually I like all 3 FF, Chrome, Opera (though it's been AGES since I used Opera).

I don't find it particularly fast. It has a laggy startup when launching a page, and sometimes forgets what it's doing.

Firefox starts very fast, but sometimes forgets what it's doing. The tweakability keeps me with Firefox as my primary browser.

Opera is the fastest for loading pages. It fetches everything, then arranges it on the page later. If you aren't picky about how things look, you can start reading faster.

Opera also makes a great portable app. It has a lot of functionality built in, so it takes the place of a few portable apps. I have SliTaz Linux, Opera, and a couple other portable apps on a 256mb thumb drive, with room to spare. It makes a good emergency computer :^)
