I'm going to get a new cell phone and originally, I was holding out for a new RIZR, when it finally gets released in the US. However, I've heard a lot of people complain about Motorola's cell phone software, but nothing really specific. So, because of that, I'm starting to think about getting a Samsung t629 since Samsung's software seems to be held in higher regard. So can anyone tell me why is it that Motorola cellphone software is held in low regard?

Thanks

I've got a Motorola V325(nothing fancy, came with my plan). For a start, it takes something like 20 seconds to boot. My old Nokia(again, nothing fancy, came with the plan) took, at most, 1/3 of that time. Once inside, the interface is ugly and rather unintuitive. Certain settings that cannot be changed are wildly annoying. For example, if I miss a message the phone will chime or vibrate(depending on sound settings) every 60 seconds or so until I manually acknowledge the message. It will not stop, no matter how many hours go by before I get back to it. It isn't unusable, by any means, but every interaction with it is just rather annoying.

The fact that Verizon has puked their special magic over the firmware makes the situation even worse. YMMV.
