What story should I read to 3rd graders?

My daugter's school has a guest readers day and my daughter wants me to participate.

I'm looking for a story that is uplifting/motivational. I don't know how much time I have but I assume 10 - 15 minutes.

It's a Catholic school so religious themes aren't taboo.

Any suggestions?

I ended up reading "Onions and Garlic" and "Chicken Sunday".

The kids were attentive and well-behaved. It was a lot of fun.

I'm paying to send them to a Catholic school and, in my opinion, the school is worth every cent.

I agree. I am very glad i went to a catholic school. I even had nuns as teachers. I learned so much!

Never heard of either of those books

My parents sent me to a christian school even though we're really not christians, just because the public schools suck so much.

I'm not Catholic either but I'm a firm believer in Catholic education.

just wondering but what is the difference with a catholic education? what are the advantages?

i attended public school my whole life and looooved it. i had a great experience. my public high school was very rich tho for a public school.

Why Catholic schools? That's easy. First, they outperform public schools academically at a fraction of the cost and secondly, they're free to teach religion and moral values, topics that are taboo in public schools.
