What sound card is better?

According to a couple of musician friends, the Fortissimo II's equalizer is much more accurately modulated. I personally would choose it for its dedicated headphone jack and outstanding headphone sound as well...
 
The audigy and Audigy 2 are fantastic but the Live 1, despite it's fantastic EMU10K1 was a buggy POS. With PCI hardware issues and horrible drivers, it's wouldn't win in a comparison with onboard audio as far as I'm concerned.
