I haven't been keeping up with the news, but was there a leak or something? I see a lot of folks saying "the game runs well on my ***"

This will take some serious processing and graphics card power. As said the key point is don't upgrade until more info comes out.

Beta started yesterday for those with codes (I think from Medal of Honor LE) and Open beta start tomorrow.

I got an i5-2500k and 8GB of RAM but an ATI 5770 so may upgrade that to an ATI 6870/nVidia 560TI to hopefully play it at med-high settings @ 1920x1200

I didn't measure but 30 fps is playable for me.

the benches had dips down to 20fps with 30fps nominal for the dual cores.
A lot of people demand 60FPS for FPS game, but personally I feel 45 is sufficient. Dips to 20 really aren't IMHO hence dual not being an option

My system is hitting 45fps consistently at 2560x1440 with everything on high and a couple things on Ultra (Auto settings). When I record with fraps it drops down to 30fps. i7 950@4Ghz, 570, 12GB RAM. Playable, but not smooth at all. I just ordered another 570 to go SLI. I want a solid 60+ fps while I record.

I'm on an old e8400 system with a 5850. I wasn't expecting to be able to play BF3 at all, but I'm hearing from people in the beta that the requirements are not as high as everyone guessed, and that the game still looks amazing on low/medium settings.

I'm going to wait until it's released and then upgrade. I'll try out the open beta on my current rig and see what's up.

Personally I'm surprised they've made it scale so well. Doesn't seem to be gimped scaling like with WoW either, it's for real true scaling and even with the slower IPC AMD cores, the 1100T keeps up perfectly fine with the core i7s.

One of the real joys is learning not to piss away money just to play ONE game. Also learning to not upgrade before its even out. Even worse is asking a bunch of nerds what they think the game will need. These kinds of threads should be banned for the same reason we dont allow price checks.

This is serious business.

Game runs fine on ultra but doesn't look that jaw dropping. 19x12

i2500k
GTX470
8GB

All stock, I'd say I'm averaging 40fps? I dunno seems smooth.

Edit:: installed fraps and was getting ~42 fps with everything on ultra... I put everything to low and got 50 fps so I think something is buggy.
