are there any songs that just give you a chill when you listen to them, no matter what? Songs that have such a profound effect on you that you simply cant help but shiver as you listen to them? Mine would have to be

Enya - Only Time
Metallica - Unforgiven II, Fade to Black
Tourniquet - When the Love is Right
Stabbing Westward - Why
John Williams - Jurassic Park Theme
Beatles - And I Love Her

Also, I'd be interested in what "genre" of music your songs would fit into. I'd like to give your suggestions a listen, but if they're, say, neo-Bulgarian Opera, I'll pass 🙂

Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here
Eric Clapton - Tears In Heaven
I don't know composer - Methuselah II
Pearl Jam - Jeremy
Nirvana - Dumb
Forrest Gump Suite
Billy Joel - Piano Man
The Beatles - Yesterday
AC-DC - You Shook Me All Night Long

Metallica - One
U2 - Sunday, Bloody Sunday
Star Spangled Banner - especially when the singer hits the high C note.

Dead Can Dance -- Don't Fade Away
Renaissance -- I Think Of You
Mike Oldfield -- Lake Constance and Sunlight Shining Through The Clouds from Millennium Bell, Magellan from The Songs of Distant Earth, Five Miles Out, many parts of Tubular Bells 1 and 3....

Ummmm

John Tesh -- April Song

Edit:
Harry Chapin--Sniper, Danceband On The Titanic, Remember When The Music..., There Only Was One Choice, The Shortest Story

most decently heavy music, turned up loud, on a decent system, gives me chills 😀

then again, most of the music i listen to is pretty exciting. thats why i listen to it 😛

hey scorch, try out "ebony tears", they rock 😀

while youre at it, try soilwork too 😛

I have to say Enya - Only Time is a great song. I like almost all of Enya's songs. Mummers Dance by Loreena McKennit is really good also. As for goosebumps, O Fortuna from Carmina Burana by Orff does it. I like how it starts out quiet and gets louder - I think it was used in the movie Excalibur. Beethovens seventh, beginning of the second movement is great as well. Hmm, I am going to get my Heavy Classix II cd out now.

<< AC-DC - You Shook Me All Night Long >>

HELL YEAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH ----- HUUUUUUGE AC/DC fan here!!!!
"she was a fast machine, she kept our motor clean.........."

but I'd like to add Carl Orff - O Fortuna, freaky

any music from Rocky...hehe

The Glory soundtrack is outstanding

Has Anyone Ever Written Anything For You - Stevie Nicks

Songs with female vocalists who are exceptionally good.

Tarja of Nightwish is an example, as is the vocalist of After Forever (don't know her name yet).

Bruce Springsteen - I wish I were Blind and Dire Straits - Telegraph Road both send a shiver down my spine 🙂
