Every time I put on Dave Matthews Band's "Bartender" and listen to the jam for the last 5 minutes of the song, it nearly brings me to tears. I don't know what it is about the song, but it just makes me remember how depressed I used to be. I dunno, I guess it makes me sad about how I used to see myself.

Anybody else have certain songs do this to them?
 
any song from The Verve's first cd, for exactly the same reason as you. listened to it a lot when i used to be depressed.

another one is natalie merchant. i was 17, the girl i was dating was 21. she loved that cd, and she broke my heart 🙂

My big ones are Hey You and Comfortably Numb by Pink Floyd, as soon as I hear those songs I feel really relaxed.

Edit: Forgot I Will Survive, the Cake version. Reminds me of that wench that dumped me in HS, then wanted me back again. :frown:

Leftfield - Songs of Life... so relaxing at the beginning, and at the end I feel pumped up. Great song. Anything from Ministry of Sound's Chillout Session is also very relaxing if you like chillin' house music.

Awesome song.

For me, anytime I hear Halcyon by Orbital, I feel relaxed. Also Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd makes me think of my gf if she's not around.

Samuel Barber's Adagio for Strings (any version, but preferably the choral version entitled &quot;Agnus Dei&quot; by Robert Shaw and the ASO.) Try listening to that without crying!

On the lighter side, listening to the remix of &quot;Take On Me&quot; gets me happy really quick.

This was one of my best friends favorite songs in high school. He died in a car wreck the summer after we graduated, so this song always reminds me of him.

Graduation by Vitamin C I'm not really into such cheesy pop artists but this song does a good job changing my mood.. about growing up.. missing my childhood and all.. This was also my HS prom song

Sensuality by ATB Techno artist.. but this song is more like intrumental/nature-like.. great song.. always gets me mesmerized..

Dreams by Cranberries Hands-down mood changer

Beautiful Strangers by Madonna Not a big madonna fan.. but this song has that certain ring that makes me feel serene..
