Authors note: I wrote this in late 2004 after the roof came off our house from my laptop in the closet waiting for power to come back on. It holds true today.

Speaking as a lifelong Florida resident, I'm subject to the inane ridicule that becomes customary when I visit family who live back in the Communist bastions of the world, such as Massachusetts and New York City when meeting them and their friends/other family.

Relative: So how's Florida? Afraid a hurricane is going to hit your house?
Other Relatives: Well, one day you'll regret living in Florida because of hurricanes.
More Relatives: Florida is hot and humid, plus you get hurricanes.

Oh please ban this man. I sat here reading that Better Nate than Lever like post for god knows how long, only to realize it was overtaken by a noob. Worst part is that it sucked. There was no punchline, just a bunch of pointless jibberish aimed at people that live in Florida.
 
Yeah, that post was long and poorly written. It was supposed to defend some idiot's decision to live in Florida, yet all I could think after reading it was "wow, what a complete fucking moron, I hope he gets blown out to sea."
