The one that's been going through here the last couple of years plays "It's a Small World". A few years ago we had one that played "Little Brown Jug".

If dogs know their owners are a block or so away from home... That should be easy money driving around with a dog treat truck with every dog in the neighborhood begging for treats before the truck is in sight. One of my neighbors runs the Luckee Dog K9 Kool Treat truck which is parked in his driveway most of the time. He's got a facebook page but I don't see a website for his business. The first time I saw it I had to laugh but apparently people want dog treats from a truck.
Little Brown Jug? Really?? That's a hip ice cream truck. They should follow it up with In The Mood. Haven't heard a truck in awhile, but the last one I remember was Pop Goes The Weasel.
I still remember the fun realizing the ice cream truck was close at hand.
Playing music more like that of a jack-in-the-box. Not the lame electronic music played today, that is if your city still has the ice cream man.
Bomb pops were our favorite. The better bang for the buck, lasted longer, and tasty too.
Dickie-DeeOh man I remember those, the ones we had were small though, I think it may have even been more like a bike with a freezer. It played some kind of "ding ding" type music, like those crank up toys. I don't actually remember more than that, I was just a little kid.
When I was down south in Sauble Beach they did have an actual ice cream truck that passed along the beach line though.
Way back in the 70's some kid ran out without looking and was hit and killed by a passing car.
Naturally, over reactive city council banned ALL ice cream trucks never to roam city streets again. Rather than holding the parent responsible for not teaching their kid(s) TO LOOK before crossing the street, the tragedy instead was the fault of the ice cream man.
