What software to use for karaoke

Hey, I actually thought there was some type of include software in the creative drivers/software (and how damn bloated they are) but I can't find any. Is there any software out there where my kids can sing along w/ music that's playing or even create bare recordings I suppose?

Thanks.

The karaoke cd's use a propriety format that your cdrom probably doesn't support without a firmware upgrade. It probably could support it, but you know how that propriety shit goes.

yup
and regular music..best you'll do is reduce certain frequency ranges where voices lie which sounds ick, you can't remove lyrics unless its all separate tracks to begin with.

Well how about this? LIke what if I just want to enable them to sing with music playing?

You can play audio cd's on your machine and have them simultaneously sing into a microphone, since they are separate inputs. Better to buy them one of those karaoke machines where it has the ability to read the karaoke discs, preferably something with its own screen. We bought one for the kids a couple of Christmas agoes and they still use it to play their music even when they aren't singing on it. Not bad for something under $100.
