I installed a Pinnacle PCTV Pro in my sister's dell before she went off to med school about 1.5 years ago, but since she didn't get cable until today I never really set it up...now I don't remember what applications I *should* be using (the drivers and actual software for viewing tv)...

I know there's the software from pinnacle's site, but when I was using that in my current rig I had nothing but problems...then I stumbled upon some software which installed drivers dependant on the type of chipset your tv card had (available at soundforge(?) i think), to which some people swore by. Then there was some other software that was popular for viewing TV (don't remember much about this anymore...)...I know i'm not giving you guys much to go on, but does anyone know what i'm referring to?

I'm in the same boat. Installed Pinnacle PCTV 5.5 and don't like it very much because you click channel button and get a 2 sec delay. Also loses sync between audio video sometimes. Hope we get some responses here.

I use hauppague cards (used to use the original pvr, now I use the new model) and haven't had any problems with their software, except for a driver conflict with the original sb live 5.1 drivers...but now I have a new card and it's all fine.

You da' man!!!!! A thousand thank you's, DScaler is so much better than the software that came with the card I have (Pinnacle PCTV Studio Pro). The card is a good buy, but add this software and it rocks! Highly recommend trying this software.

Thanks again.

Dscaler is the king, even works with my cheapie $10 TV tuner card. I switch software and use VirtualDub to capture off of the tuner, though.
