I have all the required conections, i just want to know what software will allow me to watch what my Xbox is displaying.

I know how to record, i just use my VIVO cable to conect my Xbox and use Windows Movie Maker.

I just want to play my Xbox on my PC monitor.

Any ideas.

Do any of you know how to use MCP, CapTV, or VirtualDub ?

I can get the video to show up on the Windows Movie Maker(when i record it) but not on MCP or on CapTV and VirtualDub.

Any ideas?

CapTV has worked for me. I use dscaler for ps2 playing duty. that provides the best video quality i've seen for these type of apps.

Open CapTV window, right-click--->configure--->device--->source. Choose your source form the drop down.

www.dscaler.org
that app has the best reputation for image quality (though not for recording). you'll probably wanna tweak the settings, so maybe search their message boards for some recommendations
